What we did
The staffing struggles that the NHS and other healthcare organisations have faced in recent years have been well documented – with an overreliance on agency staff, and the extortionate fees that some locums charge, regularly hitting headlines. As a consultancy which never provides temps, Healthier Recruitment is on a mission to challenge the long-held perception that permanent recruitment isn’t possible in the health sector.
While the majority of hiring managers in the NHS are open to taking a long-term approach to staffing strategy - rather than instinctively turning to agency workers to plug gaps quickly - there often needs to be an education piece around how to do this most effectively. In order to spread this message, we designed a PR campaign to not only promote the great work that Healthier Recruitment is doing through its innovative suite of service offerings, but also position its Managing Directors as true experts in their field.
This is achieved though both proactive and reactive PR activity, with BlueSky PR securing and drafting by-lined thought-leadership features in key target publications, producing and distributing press releases to announce company news and seeking opportunities to get involved in the wider news agenda. For example, through providing analysis on data which shows that vacancy numbers within the NHS will continue to rise.
Since beginning its partnership with BlueSky PR 10 months ago, Healthier Recruitment has achieved 98 pieces of quality coverage across recruitment, HR, business and health sector press, increasing brand visibility among target stakeholders exponentially. This represents over nine pieces per month on average, with a combined circulation of over 1.33 million and a combined AVE of over £43,000.
It has also been recognised by the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) for its ground-breaking approach to healthcare recruitment – after BlueSky drafted its award submission, the consultancy picked up the prestigious ‘Best Client Initiative’ trophy at the trade association’s 2018 Awards for Excellence.
