March is known for being Women’s History Month, and marked International Women’s Day on Saturday the 8th. With a month celebrating the achievements of women, as well as highlighting all of the areas that need to improve in order for women to achieve true equity, we saw some fantastic coverage for our schools both for their wonderful initiatives which support women, and for various other topics such as geopolitics, cryptocurrency, electric vehicle (EV) development and more.
Rejection can be tough to take. But thankfully, this article in The Guardian took a deep dive into the best ways to cope with rejection. Acknowledging that rejection always stings, no matter how big or small the issue really is, it’s a great piece, and featured comments from professors at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and Trinity Business School explaining how best to handle it.
Moving swiftly on from the potential pain of rejection, INSEAD’s Professor Chengyi Lin provided some expert comment in this iPaper article about the “Tesla Killer” EV developments recently made by BYD. It’s wonderful to see coverage in the iPaper for such a topical article, and will be one to keep an eye on for further developments in the space.
Our geopolitics experts are always happy to provide insight and analysis on current happenings around the world. One such example is this piece in Newsweek which featured comment from Aurélien Colson at ESSEC Business School. Colson provided some thoughts on the threat of Putin, acknowledging that he is considered “radioactive” in most places around the world.
In CCN, Professor Alexander Jader from OPIT- Open Institute of Technology provided some understanding of what is happening with cryptocurrency in Australia. The question about their appetite for regulation still remains, though.
During the month, the Financial Times published an article exploring online MBA’s. AACSB’s CEO and President, Lily Bi, was on hand to provide some key insights into why traditional MBAs are often a better return on investment.
Sticking with the theme of education, there were a plethora of opportunities for our schools to feature in the media for different themes about women in business education and women in the workplace. This BusinessBecause piece featured INSEAD and AACSB talking about how business schools can empower women working in finance. An ever-important topic, and a great read.
In the Times of India, this article explored how the quality of business education in India is rising steadily, with more students choosing to study in their home country. However, applications for exchange programs still remain high. It’s great to see conversation around the topic, and fantastic to see some recognition for business education within India. And watch this space, it’s only up from here!
Rounding off another fantastic month filled with coverage of all kinds, we had this fantastic piece in EFMD titled “Advice from leading women in business education on how to have a successful career.” It’s a fantastic piece, featuring spokespeople from over ten schools, such as EHL Hospitality Business School, Oxford’s Saïd Business School, Corvinus University of Budapest, and many others. It’s always inspiring to hear from women in leadership, and their advice is not to be missed.
So, as March brought more sunshine to a usually-grey London, we continued to help our schools to shed light on various topics, some serious, and some truly unique, but all as fascinating as ever.
