From Sports Journalism to PR

After spending the past three years studying Sports Journalism at UCFB up in Manchester, my life has been overly consumed by transfer rumours, odds, and the weekend’s football scores. But, while my dream before university was pitch-side reporting, I soon discovered I have a deeper passion – not just for storytelling, but for listening to people and bringing their voices to the forefront.

During my time at university, I worked on a variety of projects – expanding my knowledge and offering an insight into the impact of storytelling. From a research project exploring the mental health challenges faced by female swimmers, analysing the influence of brand reputation, and pitching campaigns to the Greater Manchester council, I realised just how much I value telling stories that make a difference. Through these experiences, I found myself naturally gravitating towards PR – not just as a career, but to help people be heard in meaningful and impactful ways.

It is this passion which led me to BlueSky Education. I’m fascinated by the work we have the privilege to share – research breakthroughs, student achievements, and academics making an impact in their field. Being able to help bring those stories to light and connect them to the right audiences is something I find incredibly rewarding.

What excites me about BlueSky Education is the opportunity to work with so many talented people. Universities and business schools are full of innovative thinkers, educators, entrepreneurs and future leaders, and I am eager to bring their work to the media’s eyeline. There is something so meaningful about listening to the voices that deserve to be heard, and I am committed to helping our clients share their work with clarity and impact.

I am looking forward to working with the brilliant team here and helping our clients to navigate the ever-changing media landscape.
